Construction of The Traveler, a new food and beverage location at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs, MS, consisted of renovations and additions to an existing historic cottage located on the museum property. The 110-year-old structure was carefully transformed into a new immersive art café while painstakingly preserving the historical character of the building, which won a 2025 AGC Build Mississippi award. The additions to the building, which included the restrooms, a walkaround exterior seating area, and second floor office space, were carefully crafted to recreate the cherished historical aspects of the original building. The renovations included adding a commercial kitchen, bar, and interior dining space. Construction began in April of 2024, and the three phases occurred over 12 months.
