This project was a refurbishment of the outdoor exhibits at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, a children's museum on the beach in Gulfport, MS. The first phase was the construction of a new 900 SF outdoor classroom that was designed to blend in with the wooded background. The structure was built with natural timbers and wood plank stamped concrete. The second phase was the reconstruction of the Peter Nelson-designed treehouses. All of the treehouses were rebuilt to better withstand the harsh South Mississippi coastal environment. Additionally, sidewalks, trails, a wishing well and picnic areas were added to connect all of the spaces for families to enjoy.
